The girls in church have started noticing you, that single lady at the reception in your office now welcomes you in a different tone, your divorced neighbor downstairs has just invited you for dinner, you seem to be bumping into the bridesmaids of your wedding more often while at the mall, you get an offer to go to Galileo for country music most of the Wednesdays, your Whatsapp is ten times busier and not with you dude friends, all of a sudden there are more lady drivers than male drivers in front, behind and besides you on the road, the way things are going, you will soon be invited to a ladies fellowship. Why? You are SINGLE AGAIN.
We all grew up being told that life begins at 40.. So I went through the years waiting for when I get to 40 to start life. I’m not yet 40, so maybe I am wrong on the stand I am taking, 40 is not so far from my today.. So I will not shy from speaking my thoughts on this and in the event I am wrong, expect another article from me explaining how…
Single is miles apart from single again… It’s like night and day. The single before getting married is very different from the single after having been married. I have been single again for a year now after having been married for 5 years… I have an idea.
Before you got married you were most likely just starting out in life, struggling to make ends meet, living from paycheck to paycheck and for a lady to speak to you she had to either be genuinely interested in you or sympathetic of you…. The latter is true for all the men who have name with less than 5 characters… Jack, John, Mike, Thuku, Sang etc
You are more polished now, you know how to color coordinate, you match the color of your shoes and belt, you have more than 3 watches, you have less jeans and more suits, you changed your blue Subaru for a Mercedes Benz, (for those that changed to a probox, I cannot help you) you have more money and of course you know how to treat a lady or better still how not to treat a lady. The ladies that were not attracted to you back then cannot resist you now and the younger ones keep begging for your attention. You are a classic man.
Do not be fooled by this new attention, most of it is very plastic.
Now that you are single again use this time before you get married again (for those that will) very wisely.. It’s time to invest more, do the things that you were not able to do when married. Travel more, work harder and make more money coz your life has just begun.
Spend more time with the kids, buy that car you always wanted, start building that retirement home, be involved in your local church more , start going for the keshas again, start saving for that holiday or start saving with investment group. I cannot promise you that by doing this the attention will reduce.. It will actually increase; I’ll let you figure out what to do with that.
Now in the process of doing this, if you bump into a lady as busy as you, the color of her handbag matching her shoes, does not drive a vitz, nails well done and she has a great future behind her … stop her and say Hello.
My pastor says that a fool at 40 is a fool forever… So, the gospel according to Favour, Life begins when you are single again and a fool after being single again is a fool forever.
If you are single again and you end up making the same mistakes you made before and get fooled by the attention from the ka brown skin in your office … You are a fool forever.
God bless. Thanks for reading… please spare a minute to leave a comment.
